2006 Annual Conference of North America Taiwanese Professors Association
THEME: Bridging American Experiences with Taiwan Challenges
DATE: July 28-30, 2006PLACE: Marriot Court, Newark, CA

Application Deadline: April 15th, 2006

The North America Taiwanese Professors Association (NATPA) is proud to offer opportunities again this year to support young Taiwanese and Taiwanese American scholars to attend its annual conference. As in the past years, this will be an opportunity to network with established scholars in the field and other aspiring young scholars.

The topics of this year's conference will include education and energy policies in Taiwan with an emphasis on comparing the practices in the U.S. and Taiwan, in order to draw on the experiences and expertise of the NATPA community. Presentations and participation in panel discussions are welcome and highly encourage but are not required to receive the travel fund. Selection will be based on individual qualifications, evidence of active community involvement, and/or proposed presentation and panel participation.

To be eligible, the applicants must be graduate students, recent graduates, or those currently doing post-doctoral work in the United States or Canada. Travel support will be provided for qualified individuals (up to $300/person for airfare, 2-night shared hotel accommodation during the conference, and free conference registration), subject to the approval of the organizing committee. Due to limited funding, we may not be able to fund all qualified individuals.

To apply, please fill out the attached application form and submit it along with a brief C.V. to Dr. Jeff Hou by April 15th, 2006. The result will be announced by May 2006. For further inquiries about the conference and the Young Scholars Program, please contact Dr. Jeff Hou at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ynatpa/message/25. I believe everyone in Taiwan Center is smart and able. However, I just can't get the fact that our chair caddy is always a mess. This is a picture when the caddy is fully hung with chairs.
